To enhance collaboration between sister geoparks and explore core issues such as the development of popular science systems, the conservation and management of geological heritage, and innovation in nature education, a 12-member delegation from Shennongjia Global Geopark visited Qinling Zhongnanshan Global Geopark on November 15 for a two-day field exchange.

Through presentations by the management center of Qinling Zhongnanshan Global Geopark and field visits to the geopark’s museum, monitoring center, and the Cuihuashan Landslide Heritage Area, the delegation was deeply impressed by the abundant landslide geological heritage and standardized management of the Zhongnanshan area. Dai Guangming, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Shennongjia National Park Administration, stated, “Since becoming sister geoparks in 2019, both sides have adhered to the principles of friendship and mutual assistance, carrying out multiple joint activities during key events such as Earth Day promotions.” He expressed his hope to continue this friendship and cordially invited Qinling Zhongnanshan Global Geopark for a return visit to identify collaboration opportunities and expand areas of cooperation.

To date, Qinling Zhongnanshan Global Geopark has established sister geopark relationships with 15 global geoparks, including Shennongjia, Leye-Fengshan, and Langkawi. Moving forward, Qinling Zhongnanshan will focus on sharing management experiences and exchanging scientific research achievements, while engaging in in-depth collaborations with sister geoparks in areas such as resource exploration, popular science education, and cultural tourism planning. Together, they will contribute to the sustainable development of global geoparks.
