On July 10, 2025, a delegation of faculty and students from the School of Tourism and the School of Artificial Intelligence at Xi’an International Studies University (XISU), led by Dean Pang Wen, visited the Taiping scenic area of the Qinling Zhongnanshan UNESCO Global Geopark for an exchange on smart geopark development. Representatives and the operations team from the Taiping scenic area participated in the exchange.
The delegation conducted a field inspection of the Geopark’s visual big data platform and gained insights into the “background of smart geopark development,” “smart platform information,” “smart scenic area construction,” and “smart scenic area applications.” Through experiences with smart marketing solutions, unmanned ticketing systems, AR navigation guides, and other intelligent applications, they witnessed how digitalization enhances both ecological conservation and geopark management.
This exchange activity provided an opportunity for both sides to deepen the integration of “education + ecology + tourism” and opened new pathways for exploring industry-academia collaboration. Moving forward, the Taiping scenic area and XISU will expand cooperation into areas such as live-streaming promotion, artificial intelligence, low-altitude economy, and digital marketing. This will build bridges for innovative practices in smart scenic areas and deeper integration of industry, academia and research.
